Reading a public page is not the same as owning what is on it. Reclip is built around that distinction, and this page explains exactly where the line sits.
The two modes
Reclip is designed with two separate modes: Link Inspector for public information and text, and Creator Converter for media you supply or an account you control. Platform inspection and conversion workers are currently paused. The API does not provide a path that turns a public link into a downloadable media file.
What Inspector does
The planned Inspector reads fields a platform officially exposes and preserves a source link and retrieval time. It will not bypass private access or download public media. Exact fields depend on platform API approval and are not available while processing is paused.
What Converter does
The upload boundary is live and accepts private files under the current size limit. Encoding, compression, audio extraction, subtitling, thumbnails, GIFs, resizing and clip generation remain unavailable until worker processing is connected. Jobs will require a verified uploaded asset or authorised account source.
Reporting misuse
If you believe a Reclip account is being used to redistribute your work, email rights@reclipco.com with the account and the material. Reports are prioritised for review; response time depends on the evidence and legal requirements.
Takedowns
Reclip may restrict access to reported material or suspend an account while a credible complaint is reviewed. Outcomes depend on the evidence, applicable law and any valid counter-notice.
Creator protections
Connected-account exports and metadata watermarking are planned controls, not live features. Private uploads are currently isolated by workspace and protected by row-level and object-level access policies.
